Restaurant Idi - Traditional dishes and fresh fish farm

Passing by the Traditional Watermill next to the hotel you will find yourself in the facilities of our restaurant which include an indoor hall and an outdoor dining area, which in winter turns into a closed heated room with a wonderful fireplace dominating in the middle giving warmth to the space. A unique place next to the dining room is the fish farm of the restaurant where trout, salmon and sturgeon are raised. They are fished daily and you can enjoy these fresh fish cooked with taste only in our area.

And for those who are not fans of fish, the options are many and delicious! Freshly cut salads with vegetables grown in our garden or on nearby farms, a variety of appetizers that will perfectly accompany the wine you can choose from our wide list of wines, grilled meats from local farms or cooked with traditional Cretan recipes, rabbit, sponge with apaki (Cretan smoked meat), Cretan smoked sausage, snails burbouristoi, a variety of Cretan cheeses from local producers, and of course "antikristo"* lamb.

You will also have the opportunity to taste freshly made pies, syrupy sweets and seasonal sweets from seasonal fruits that we will pick from the trees in our garden.

Our restaurant uses in all its dishes virgin olive oil from the olive groves of our family.

You can also enjoy your drink or coffee outside in the specially designed area with grass and toys for our little friends above the fish farm.

* The name of the restaurant changed after 40 years of continuous operation in 2021, from Taverna Votomos to IDI Restaurant, thus giving new breath but remaining faithful to the family tradition honoring Cretan gastronomy.

* (This is a special way of cooking the meat ofto, where it is cooked opposite the fire and not on or in it. The shepherds of Psiloritis are not used to using another method to cook their lambs and ribs and it is of particular interest the procedure followed as it resembles a ritual).
